NORTHERN RESOURCE TRUCKING LIMITED PARTNERSHIP

Northern Resource Trucking, a partnership between the Lac La Ronge Indian Band and Trimac Transportation.  The company was founded in 1986 to expand Aboriginal participation in northern Saskatchewan’s mining industry.
Currently, NRT is a working partnership involving twelve aboriginal groups, including Metis, Dene and Woodland Cree with Trimac Transportation as the southern member.
NRT began as a transport company specifically designed to provide service to the world's largest, publicly traded mining companies of Saskatchewan's north. Our two largest customers, Cameco Corporation and Areva rely on NRT to provide safety and service in some of the most demanding driving conditions that the full four seasons can provide.
Due to the nature of NRT's partnerships, we have had the opportunity to train northern Saskatchewan residents to become first rate drivers in the land that they know better than anyone. The conditions in the difficult northern terrain provide the ultimate test of a driver's skill and resourcefulness. The drivers in this company have handled every trial that nature and man can provide, and still NRT has a safety record second to none.
Today, round the clock, year round, the drivers of the NRT fleet cover the immense distances to northern mine sites hauling consumables, mining materials, dry bulk commodities, mining machinery and liquid bulk commodities for the companies that mine the rich resources of the region. Satellite technology ensures each truck is always in touch with the dispatch office.  Northern Resource Trucking has proven to be a ground-breaking enterprise; a true working partnership between Aboriginal peoples and an industry giant, gathering its strength from the wisdom of two cultures, going from strength to strength.
